POSTPARTUM CARE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Support Every Step of the Way
-
A postpartum doula provides non-medical physical, emotional, educational, and family support during the 12 weeks following the birth or adoption of a child. A doula works with families, empowering them to have the best postpartum experience possible as well as helping them develop skills that they will use throughout their child’s life.
-
A postpartum doula works with you to provide individualized support during this stage in your life. This can look like help with chores, supporting feeding goals, preparing nourishing meals, or caring for older siblings.
A doula also educates, providing evidence-based support so you can feel informed and confident in your ability to care for your child.
-
If you are welcoming a new child to your family, then a postpartum doula is for you. Whether you’ve just given birth or recently adopted, anyone who has a newborn in the home can benefit from the care and support of a postpartum doula.
-
You can hire a postpartum doula as soon as your first trimester! Or at any point before your newborn is 12 weeks. So if you know you might not have the support you need after you give birth, or you’re in the thick of it right now and desperate for a helping hand and an understanding listener, you can hire a doula! However, the benefits to hiring a doula early are many! Not only will you be able to build more comfortability with the person who will be helping you post birth, but you can also put a doula fund on your baby registry!
